Gary Habel - President
|
Gary's career at DIS began the summer before I graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman. Then, he made deliveries, picked up client documents and did a variety of odd jobs. After receiving a degree in business and computer science, he joined the company as a full-time employee in 1983.
For the next 12 years, Gary worked as a sales representative for DIS, marketing its products and services. During that time, he also learned the ins and outs of the company from his father, and when Don retired, Gary was promoted to be president of DIS.
"One of the things that I love best about working at DIS is the opportunity to work with some really great people-we call it our DIS family," he says. "I feel very fortunate to get to work with such a great group." He specifically notes that working with sister Linda a blessing.
As president, Gary works to ensure that DIS works efficiently and stays focused on their goals. This includes coordinating or directing sales, production and IT divisions.
"I love technology," he says. "It is ever-changing, keeping us on our toes and keeping things interesting and exciting."
At the end of the day, Gary enjoys spending time with his wife and children. A film buff himself, he especially enjoys popping popcorn and watching movies with them on weekends.
Gary's favorite saying comes from a gift that was given to him by his father years ago. It reads:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
He has found that the verse applies both in good times and in bad, noting, "We've been fortunate that most of our times here at DIS have been good ones."

Linda Turnquist - Vice President/General Manager
|
Born and raised in Billings, Montana, Linda has been a part of the DIS family since 1975, although she notes that her father Don, the company's founder, claims he never hired her. She began processing and checking microfilm, microfilmed client records and helped her mother, Marian, with accounts receivable.
Today, as Vice President and General Manager, she oversees the company's day-to-day operations, handling all HR, A/P and A/R functions. In that role, she works closely with people who work hard and take pride in what they do.
"I love working in a family atmosphere--literally," she says with a laugh. "How many people can say they are blessed to work with their brother every day and live to tell about it?"
Linda also appreciates her parents' hard work in creating DIS. "It took so much courage and foresight to do what they did-to pour everything into an idea and then seeing it through."
When not at the office, Linda enjoys walking and playing golf with her husband and visiting her grown children in Montana and Indiana.
Linda's favorite quote comes from Andrew Somers and reads: "Treat every person with kindness and respect, even those who are rude to you. Remember that you show compassion to others not because of who they are but because of who you are."
She explains that this is her rule to live by not only personally but also in business, and says, "It makes such a difference in my attitude and outlook and hopefully in the attitude and feelings of those I work with."

Garrett Johnson - IT Services Manager
|
Montana native Garrett Johnson was raised in Hysham and Billings. Prior to joining DIS in February of 2008, he worked as the "technology guru" for the Rapid City Police Department, handling all computer-related matters from setting up office systems to complete installations of computers and law enforcement equipment in police vehicles.
As IT Services Manager, Garrett performs all management functions for the information technology division. With numerous IT certifications, including Comptia A+ and Comptia Network+, he is trained and experienced in the set up and administration of computer networks both large and small.
"What do I love most about my work at DIS?" he asks. "The people that I work with and the customers I serve."
Garrett notes that DIS is committed to providing exceptional customer service and to treating everyone-customers and employees alike-fairly.
"They follow the Golden Rule, and that is hard to find anymore."
Garrett, a husband and father of three young children, enjoys heading off-road in his spare time and hunting and fishing as time allows. It is perhaps fitting, then, that his favorite saying is: "There's always a bigger fish."
"I like it," he says, "because no matter how good or powerful you think you are, there is always someone better. It helps keep me modest."

Matt Davison - National Accounts Manager
|
After graduating from Montana State University in Bozeman, Matt, a Montana native, moved across the country to become a regional sales manager for Glidden, the well-respected paint company.
Eventually, he moved into advertising, and then became the Director of Business Development for an aviation publishing company. It was through his job in publishing that he was introduced to the document management business, and led him to open his own company in Reading, Pennsylvania.
When he returned to his home state in 2004, Matt joined DIS as National Accounts Manager, a position he still holds today. He is responsible for all sales efforts, customer acquisition, business development and customer training and relations.
"DIS is a first-class operation," Matt says. "The owners take overwhelming pride in their business, their opportunities to help others and the community in which they live. I also really enjoy working for the customers we deal with on a day-to-day basis."
A decathlon athlete who is always driven to do better and go one step further, Matt strives to help people solve their problems. He enjoys seeing their lives become less burdensome because of the solutions that he can provide.
Matt, a private pilot, likes to take to the sky in his free time. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and with his family. "Life," he says, "is all about experiences-and if you haven't had any, you haven't lived."
He is unsure of what saying would be his favorite, noting that he likes "Just have fun." But it is his competitive side that prevails when he says that the well-known Nike tag "Just Do It" has always played into his world.
"For some reason," he says, "that just makes sense. Thanks, Nike."

Jocelin Staton - Archive Imaging Coordinator
|
Jocelin joined the DIS family in 2003 when she moved to Billings with her husband and children from Fargo, ND. Having lived in many states, she now calls Montana home.
Starting out as a scanning associate, Jocelin quickly found her true calling in the microfilm and archiving department. Her initial duties were filming documents, processing and inspecting microfilm. Today, Jocelin is the Archive Imaging Coordinator, managing all aspects of the Microfilm-Archiving Department.
"Working at DIS is great," she says, "Not only do I get to work with the best people and the best clients, I love what I do here."
With technology always advancing, Jocelin strives to help people preserve their documents for hundreds of years with Archival microfilm. She uses her tag line "Archiving the past and present for the paperless future" to aid her in the continuing expansion of the DIS Archiving Department.
Jocelin, her husband, and three children enjoy spending time bike riding, camping, and watching movies. She also keeps busy attending all her family's various activities.
Jocelin's favorite saying is "If you never try, you will never find out how great you can be at something." She explains "I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't try and give it my all."
